Mother Courage and Her Children

Classic epic theatre play. It is a grim warning of the fatal consequences of capitalism told through a mother’s pursuit for profit during war at the expense of her own children. Mother Courage makes a living selling wares from her wagon following the wake of the Protestant army during the Thirty Years’ War, she only cares about her own business, eager to profit from the war. After losing one and one of her own children, Mother Courage, who learned nothing from her losses, is left to pull her wagon alone, pursing the next opportunity in a seemingly endless war. For the sound team, this is relatively a difficult production. A lot of characters, the long timeline in story and the presentation of various scores have brought us a lot of pressure. I served as the assistant production sound engineer in this show, contributed to the construction of the sound system and the progress of the performance.

Production Related - THTR 569 Sound Documentation Course Project

During the production of Mother Courage and her Children, I also participated in the THTR 569 Sound Documentation course. The sound system drawing design of Mother Courage was one of the main project of the course. After a semester of system design work, I also drew all of the paperworks for this show.
